Illustration

by Hannah Maia

Drawing was something I always wanted to do as a kid. If you had asked 10 year old Hannah what she wanted to do when she got older she would have told you she wanted to be a children’s book illustrator. I actually went on to study social and visual anthropology, and I got my fix of storytelling and creativity through film and photography. During the last few years though I’ve picked up my pencils again and I find it utterly satisfying to see my skills develop. It’s very easy to completely loose all sense of time when I’m in full flow and absorbed in the creation of something. I sell my own prints and things in my shop and regularly work on commissions so just get in touch if you are after something bespoke.

I work both digitally in procreate and photoshop on my ipad and also enjoy using scissors and collage in mixed media pieces. Below is a small selection of recent pieces.
